Funding Resources

Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA)
The office of Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) is the grants office for NYULMC/SoM.  SPA supports and facilitates the education, service, and research programs of the NYU School of Medicine.  The office assures compliance with university, medical school, sponsor, and government policies and procedures.  All grant submissions need to be approved by SPA before they can be submitted in order to obtain institutional endorsement.  SPA must receive the grant at least 7 business days before submission deadline. 

Grant Editing Services.
Developed to support NYULMC faculty and staff and their research initiatives. Services include, but are not limited to, grants editing, finding funding, organizing events as needed, and serving as an information resource and help desk.

The grant resource library is a compilation of grant writing resources, offering examples of funded grants from NYULMC/SoM investigators, template text for shared resources offered at the institution, and more.

Research Intranet
A centralized location for all important research resources and offices, allowing research investigators and administration to perform their daily activities within one workspace. kerberos ID required.

Research Safety and Compliance

Office of Research Compliance
The Office of Research Compliance provides support and education for faculty members, students, and staff in conducting scientific research in accord with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. 

Environmental Health and Safety
The Environmental Health and Safety group develops and manages programs that protect medical center personnel from health and safety hazards, ensure waste is discarded in an environmentally sound manner, and facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements.

Research Subjects

Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM)
The Division of Comparative Medicine provides the finest animal care and support for NYULMC scientists. DCM is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
The IACUC assures the welfare, well-being and proper care and use of all vertebrate animals used for research and educational purposes at NYULMC/SoM.  the committee reviews, requests modifications, and approves research and teaching protocols involving the use of live vertebrate animals, and oversees training and educational programs related to animal use. 

Institutional Review Board (IRB)
The Institutional Review Board at NYUSoM promotes and protects the welfare and rights of all human research participants.  IRB needs to be contacted if investigators plan to use human iPS cells for research and/or to conduct studies with human subjects. 

Office of Clinical Trials (OCT)
The office of Clinical Trials facilitates the conduct of clinical research studies at NYULMC.  

Licensing and Patenting

NYU Office of Industrial Liaison/Technology Transfer
The NYU Office of Industrial Liaison manages all activities relating to the protection and commercial promotion of inventions made at NYU.  the office also promotes the commercial development of NYU technologies into products to benefit the public and facilitates research collaborations between NYU researchers and industry on projects of mutual interest.  for more information
