A Paper from the Belasco Lab recently appeared in the May 28th issue of PNAS (vol. 110, no. 22), where it was cited on the cover and chosen by the editors to be the subject of a commentary.

This paper shows for the first time that the sequence of unpaired nucleotides at the 5' end of bacterial RNAs can govern whether they are targeted for degradation by a 5'-end-dependent mechanism in which rapid decay is triggered by conversion of the 5'-terminal triphosphate to a monophosphate by the RNA pyrophosphohydrolase RppH.
