Stadtfeld Lab Home

Matthias Stadtfeld joined the Developmental Genetics Program at the Skirball Institute in January 2012. He conducted his graduate work with Thomas Graf at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and his postdoc with Konrad Hochedlinger at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute in Boston. His postgraduate research addressed basic questions regarding the generation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from adult tissues, such as which adult cell types give rise to iPS cells, what are molecular hallmarks of the reprogramming process and how do iPS cells compare to other pluripotent cells like blastocyst-derived embryonic stem cells.
