Fujix Digital Photographs

Located in NYU Medical Center's Skirball Institute, Media Services produces digital photographs on a Fujix Pictrograhy 3000 more inexpensively than any other facility in New York City (see our ratesheet). There are many ways to prepare images and documents for output on the Fujix; the methods listed in the links to the right are among those currently in use at the institute. Whichever method is used, the production sequence always results in the creation of a temporary Powerpoint, PDF, EPS or TIFF file which is sent to Media Services using File Upload accompanied by an email message (media@med.nyu.edu) stating the size and quantity of fujix prints required. Files received before 4:00 pm non-holiday weekdays will be available for pick-up at Media Services within 3 hours the same day.

Resolution

Full size Fujix prints produced at Media Services contain about 4400 by 3400 pixels, at 400 pixels to the inch. Image files containing or entirely consisting of bitmaps should be composed with this in mind; indeed, the number of pixels available on the ultimate output device often governs every step in the production of such images, from scanning through composition and output.
